ABOUT ME

Hello there!
My name is Jean Douglas, but I am otherwise also known as "drooms".
I am a 3D Artist based in Hamelin, Germany.
After finishing my general education, I spent about 2 years refining my skills before entering the games industry. In 2020, I had my first taste as the Art Director for a currently still in development title, and have since then learned a lot leading a small team through various hurdles.
In 2023 I started my own Company developing Airsoft tuning equipment, Maraudr Co, to realize my designs onto firearm replicas.

I enjoy a challenging work-environment, and the ever-changing dynamics of the workspace and production provide the perfect room for me to always learn more and push my team and myself to new heights.
I specialize in the production of game-ready models, visual coding of shaders inside of unity and Unreal engine (while learning HLSL on the side), but I am also trained in creating movie quality assets as well as rendering hyperrealistic Models for Advertisement & co.
I have experience working with Unreal Engine 4/5 and Unity for Game Applications.
I am very proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Autodesk Maya, Fusion 360, Moi 3D, Substance Painter & Designer, Marvelous Designer, Marmoset Toolbag and Keyshot.I am also trained in the Production and Workflows of Manufacturing Physical Products, in specific:
- Rapid Prototyping using SLS/SLM, MFJ, FDM and DLP/SLA Printing Methods and Materials.
- Molding and Feature Design for Injection & Gravity Molding
- Manufacturing of Parts using 3/4 Axis CNC
- Sheetmetal Design for Waterjet, CNC and Laser Cutting
- Various Surface treatments for Aluminum & Steel
